Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!

I can't believe it, but Jenna is four months today! She is so much fun (most days). I wish I could say she is sleeping through the night consistently, but that would be a lie. Actually, she sleeps well, she goes from sleeping the whole night to getting up once or twice to eat. However, last night she was up to party at 4 AM. On one hand I was so tired, but on the other hand she was so cute smiling and making her noises. Her latest hobbies are eating her feet, laughing and making sounds and/or raspberries, eating her blanket and riding in her stroller. Jenna started cereal two weeks ago and LOVES it! We go for her four month check up on Wednesday, so I'll post more then.

Well after weeks of trying, she finally did it. Jenna rolled over, and was quite proud of herself. She was from grinning ear to ear!

I miss seeing Jenna but those pictures are precious. I can't believe she rolled over. She just doesn't want to miss anything.
Give her a kiss from me. Love Auntie Barb

We just got back from Jenna's doctor appointment. She was wonderful except for the very end when she got four more shots. I haven't heard her scream like that in quite awhile. So to answer everyone's question, her weight is 15 lbs 5 ounces and her height 25 1/2 inches, so she is going nicely.

Wow, who took that bath pic??? Whoever did must be a great photographer! (hee hee) Though, I have to say that when I gave her a bath I did not make it look as natural and easy as you, Shan. She is a slippery little thing in that tub!!!
Anyway, Kevin's been timing her this week and she rolls over in 3 seconds flat. Can you tell my hubby is a track coach? He's trying to encourage her to beat her personal best and shoot for 2 secs. Oh, I feel sorry for our own kids one day...
Anyway, Jenna, as always, is beautiful! Love the pic of her w/ Aunt Mikey in front of the NYC skyline! ;-) And she always smells sooo good!

Ok, I have a question for everyone. As you know, Jenna got her shots on Wed., which caused me to take her temp through the day. Anyway, Thursday night I worried because her temp got down to 96.5. I called the doctor's office where I reached a night nurse who told me to put an extra blanket on her and monitor it. Anyway to make a long story short, Jenna's temp returned to normal during the day but by 1:30 AM it was back down to 96.3. Once again I covered her with more blankets and by 9 this morning it was back to 98.4. I just got a call from the doctor who is not concerned. Has anyone encountered a similar situation or know of anyone who has?

Shannon,
It isn't anything to worry about. It also depends on where and how you are taking it. I know Sara says that under the arm you have to add a degree. I believe the ear is different too and it depends on the type of thermometer you have also. It doesn't sound like it is a big difference. Auntie Barb

Hey Shann.. Was Jenna sleeping right before or while you took her temp? Our body temp goes down while we are sleeping. If your doctor was not alarmed, I wouldn't be either. You are doing a great job... She just gets prettier and prettier every month !

Ok, to clarify a little more, I originally checked Jenna's temperature because she had 4 vaccines that day at the doctor and had a fever. I had her on Tylenol to control the fever, so when I checked Thurs. night I was surprised to find a lower temp. I took the temperature rectally with a digital thermometer. After talking to one of the nurses at my pediatrician's office she told me to monitor her. So Friday she had a normal 98.6 temp, but went down to 96.1 during the night. It seems to be its lowest after a few hours of sleeping, perhaps her deep sleep. I don't know if her body has always done this because I haven't had reason to take Jenna's temp at night. Last night her temp only went down to 97.6, but I also had several blankets on her once she went to bed. I Justin read what you said Jennie, that our body's temp is lowest while sleeping, I jusy didn't realize it could go that low. Another possibility that my dad read is it could be related to the vaccines because some people will drop their temp in order to fight an infection. Well, what ever the reason I am sure chances are we are being neurotic, but it did give Mike and I a scare for a few nights.

Learned something new today at Tyler's dr. appt.(check-up time) and that is..a baby's internal thermostat doesn't fully mature till 9 months of age (hence our mothers and grandmothers were right about always covering a baby with a blanket as to not get a chill!!) anyway his dr. also said as long as her temp doesn't go below the 96. range, no need to worry... (watch it while in that range but once it maintains in the 97. range to go and get some desperately needed sleep!)He also said the same about all temps lowering at night and it could be due to her shots or just Jenna at this time. He really put my mind at ease so I thought I would pass it on...oh, if only my mom were around she would have saved us all a lot of worry I am sure. Anyway as we all can see from the photos Jenna is growing and doing everything she is suppose to and may I add.. beautifully, especially rolling over! (do I sound a little proud?!!)so try and relax Shan and get a good nights sleep especially when she goes all night!(that was the dr.'s order as well!) love, mom

Well, three nights in a row I had Jenna sleeping with three blankets on her (not to mention her warm pajamas) and three nights in a row she has slept the through the night! I guess she likes it that warm. I am always cold, but she seems to have me beat.
